10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Joseph Jackson Fuller, nineteenth century Jamaican missionary to West Africa, ran into a difficulty while establishing a new mission station in modern day Cameroon. They had no access to water due to the hostility of the people, so Fuller chose to dig a well; something no one had ever done in that region. God arranged circumstances such that Fuller could tell them the story of the Samaritan woman at the well, thus introducing them to the Source of Living Water.
Like Jesus offered to the Samaritan woman, Hudson Taylor was able, in a moment of great need and thirst, access the well that never runs dry. No longer was the Samaritan woman's story ancient history to him, for in his own words, "it became a present message to my soul... and more than satisfied my sorrowing heart."
Jesus’ promise of Living Water to the Samaritan woman at the well made the heart of a Muslim man tremble, “lest [he] be made to follow in the way of the Messiah.”
Evangelist George Brealey, like his Master, Jesus, asks a woman for a drink of water. He then asks her if she has found “living water” to satisfy her soul. By the end of their conversation, she found the Source of Living Water Himself.
