Acts 11:5

A city was in pandemonium as bandits made their way toward it. A group of women were gathered there for a Bible course and were faced with the difficult choice of fleeing or staying. They decided to go apart, and each pray privately for a word from God. Each woman was given the same scripture for comfort. Resting in God, these women stayed put and watched Him deliver the city just like He promised in the Scripture text they had all received.

It was while praying on November 25, 1942 that Mark Ma heard an instruction from the Lord that will forever change his life. For God, was leading him and some others to preach the gospel in Xinjiang.

Seventeen-year-old Ho En Cheng was attending an evangelistic meeting when she received a clear vision from the Lord as the congregation rose to pray. In that vision, she received the call from God to go preach in Xinjiang and she obeyed!

Mr. Goforth was uncharacteristically filled with anxiety and worry about God’s seeming inability to move during a meeting. He continued to worry until he was rebuked by the Lord. As soon as he accepted this rebuke, the Spirit began to move, leading men to confess their sins.

After Bibi gave his life to Christ, he was invited by his dying father for final parting words. However, instead of dying, the father was healed and discharged after Bibi prayed for him.

Rabi Maharaj's conversion to Christianity from Hinduism came with a lot of trouble for him. He was shamed, disgraced and became the butt of jokes and ridicule in class. Overcome with sorrow one night, Rabi cried to the Lord in his frustration. That very night, Jesus appeared to him in an experience that imbued him with courage and unending assurance.

When a student walked into Dr. Jack's office to submit a late assignment, the Lord took Jack on a trance wherein it was revealed to him that the student was suffering from an addiction to pornography. Back from his trance, Jack mentioned this to the student who confessed and agreed to be prayed for. For ten years after that prayer, Jack still received messages from this student thankfully informing him that "the weight that had lifted hadn’t returned".

Louis Talbot was confronted by the Lord with the very subject matter he was trying to avoid in prayer. But as the Lord spoke to reassure him, Louis took the bold step and true to the promise of God, he found rest, only as he obeyed God.

Having given away their possessions, the Stokes, united in prayer, sought the face of the Lord as to where next they were to go and they were led to go to Manchester. And "not knowing wither", with two suitcases and all of God's promises, they set out to obey their Lord!

Through prayerful inquiry, Messrs. Müller and Craik were able to judge that it was not God's will for them to accept an invitation for mission work in Baghdad, even with their travel costs already covered. This decision to obey God was not regretted by either of them, as it soon became clear that God was leading them into a very different life work.

Rosalind Goforth was led by God in prayer to try a bread poultice remedy on the burnt foot of a little boy. Even though it felt absurd, Rosalind obeyed and, to her astonishment, the remedy worked.

A total stranger was used by the Lord to deliver a timely message to Rosalind Goforth who was about to travel to China in the wake of cruel murders of missionaries. The message was a note which read: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. (Isa. 54:17)"

Confused as to whether to travel to England and become an artist to China as a missionary, Rosalind went to God in prayer. As she prayed, she was led to a passage of scripture which set her confusion to rest. God made her path to the missions field clear.

An evangelist obeys the leading of the Spirit to embark on a journey of 2000 miles even when he had not a dime to pay his way. He got his suitcase ready and just before reaching the train, a stranger handed him enough money for his trip.

Bilquis listened to the voice of the Lord to undergo baptism by water even though she knew she would loose so much.

Mr. Trumbull had misplaced a manuscript he was supposed to mail just before catching a midnight train to Boston, as the time for his trip drew near, he soon found himself in a losing battle against time. Throwing himself down to his knees, he sought the help of God and received guidance while he was yet on his knees.

When the time came for Mr. Trumbull to use out of the money he had withdrawn from the bank, and try as much as he could, he did not remember where he kept the money. Turning to God for guidance, he went on his knees in prayer and received definite instructions on where to find the money.

In a vision, Ned is brought before the judgement seat of God where he's found guilty of sin. So vivid was this vision that Ned surrendered to the Lord afterwards!

Through a vision an elderly lady in church received; that left even his doubtful father dumbfounded, eleven-year-old Reinhard Bonnke's call to missions in Africa was confirmed!

Bonnke had a vision that not only was his call to Missions in Africa re-emphasized, but also, the omniscience of God was undoubtedly evident!

During a prayer meeting in Krempe, God spoke separately but at the same time, to 16-year-old Reinhard Bonnke and 17-year-old Manfred Fischer. The instruction was crystal clear: they were to go preach in another town!

God specifically revealed the details of a prostitute to His servants during a prayer session. After praying for her over a period, she came to the knowledge of Christ surrendering her life to Him.

Charles Finney cried out to God when he was faced with strong opposition to his Revival work at Auburn. And in a vision from the Lord, he found strength and the assurance of victory, to ride the storm that was before him.

Charles Finney visited Antwerp with the intention of preaching, however, on getting there he realized the people were opposed to religious services. After giving himself to prayer, the Lord encouraged him with words from Acts 18:9-11 "Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace; for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee. For I have much people in this city." The next Saturday he preached to a packed audience, directly confronting them about their sinful ways and many of them wept!

God sustained Jackie Womack and her five children for a week by multiplying her meager supplies. When the cupboards were finally bare, God spoke to a friend of Jackie’s, through whom He supplied for the pantry.

Francis Radoc Sambire was a young believer who wanted to be baptized with the Spirit. In a vivid vision one day, she saw the Lord about to exchange her "black heart" for a new one. That same night, she experienced the baptism she so desired.

Claudio Friedzon was greatly discouraged by the lack of results abd growth in his ministry, so much so that he thought of quiting. But one day in a vision from the Lord, Carlos' life and ministry changed forever.

Sister Eva writes about the clear call she received from God in prayer saying, "Deal thy bread to the hungry and bring the poor that are cast out to thy house;" and her emphatic response to the Lord.

When an opportunity to join the Navy as a chaplain was presented, Philip was interested, but together with his wife prayed thus; "Lord, if this isn’t your will, you have a week to stop it." That same weekend during a prayer, Philip audibly heard the Lord speak to change their direction.

Sundar Singh was preaching to hostile Buddhists in Tibet and was one day driven out of a village without food and left to bear the blistering call from 13, 000 feet. But as he prayed, the Lord spoke to him; bringing him peace and the assurance that he was not alone.

The church of God gathered together to pray for the mother of a Christian lady—an old woman who having left Armenia two months before was yet to arrive America, with no words from her on her whereabouts. As they prayed the Lord spoke to one in the congregation and three days later, the old woman arrived America!

Though completely unschooled, eleven-year-old Efim Gerasemovitch Klubnike received a very vivid and remarkable vision from the Lord—which he sketched and wrote out plainly on paper. It was a forewarning from the Lord for his people and though it took almost fifty years, everything he saw in that vision came to pass.

While in prison, the Lord gave Brother Yun "a vivid dream" wherein he had a Bible. The next very next morning, the unprecedented happened; he was given a Bible by the prison authorities!

In a vision, the Lord reveals to Brother Yun what he later understood to be a forewarning of the plot by his captors to torture and then lure him, just so he will cave in.

Brother Yun had been praying desperately and fasting, for a Bible of his own. One night he received a vision from God and when he awoke, in a very surreal manner, his vision became reality - God answered his prayers.

Corrie ten Boom has a vision, like a waking dream, of her family and friends being taken away somewhere. She was afraid, but her sister Betsie comforted her saying that if God has given her a premonition, it shows He has that too in His hands.

Nik Ripkin and two other believers went to pay an impromptu visit to a Christian leader in Southeast Asia, but to their surprise; their host was expecting all three of them - the Holy Spirit had spoken to him about their visit.

God spoke to the Rev. William Bramwell while he was praying for safe travels for a young woman. God told him to warn her not to go on the voyage the next day, and she heeded the warning. Six weeks later they learned the ship had sunk. There were no survivors.

During prayer, the Holy Spirit impressed upon Rev. William Bramwell that a young woman, who had planned to sail to Jamaica, must not go. Despite her surprise, Bramwell convinced her to postpone her voyage, and in six weeks' time, news arrived that the ship had been lost with all on board perishing.

An old saint with his four sons trusts in the Lord's instruction to suspend their journey until the next day against their usual routine. The route they were supposed to take was attacked in the night.

In a vision, Surprise Sithole who was waiting to hear from the Lord, received instructions from the Lord to use what he had (the Word of God). The results of doing as he was told was nothing short of electrifying.
