Following excerpt from 22% into Living on the Devil's Doorstep by Floyd McClung, Jr.
. . . . One particular bolt-from-the-blue experience that touched us deeply involved a young girl staying with us who had been challenged by my request that each person accept an equal responsibility for praying in the money needed. However, no one who knew her back home had any idea where she was at the time.

Despite her reservations, she decided to take the plunge, so she came to me and said that she wanted to become a full-fledged member of our Olfat “family” and she would take on the task of praying in her contribution each month. To underline how serious she was, she handed over all the money she had with her, about 5,800 afghanis, which is equivalent to one day’s wages for a secretary today. Recognizing her commitment, I prayed that God would honor her trusting step by demonstrating clearly His generous provision.

The next week a miraculous improbability occurred that confirmed her decision. She drove to the post office with Sally, and among the letters was one from a friend in Portugal with whom she had not been in contact for nearly a year. Inside the envelope was the exact amount of her monthly prayer pledge—with the simple note: “I just got a burden last week to send you this money. God bless.”

Sitting in the car outside the post office that day, they praised God for His goodness and love. For the non-Christians who were living with us, our dependence upon God for daily provision and His miraculous supply was a powerful testimony to God’s reality.
