Faith and love are demonstrated by giving of oneself for others

When Ting Li Mei's village was threatened by a flood disaster that had laid surrounding villages to waste, he took to prayers and interceded tirelessly on behalf of his people. But even though his own people were delivered, he didn't stop there. At a great personal risk, he braved the angry waters in order to get help for the surrounding villages, and he succeeded!
Charles Morris visited Father Douglas, who was running an Internally Displaced Persons camp in Ebril, Iraq. Father Douglas spoke profoundly about his suffering and that of his people, and of their unshaken trust in Jesus through it all. “All the world thinks that ISIS took everything,” he said. “It is not one can touch our joy; no one can touch our faith.”
