True worshipers must worship in spirit and truth

Scripture references

John 4:20–24 (ASV 1901)

20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when neither in this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall ye worship the Father. 22Ye worship that which ye know not: we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth: for such doth the Father seek to be his worshippers. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

John 4:24 (ASV 1901)

24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Romans 12:1 (ASV 1901)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.

Stories

Afghani women genuinely identified with the story of the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, since their present-day culture bears striking similarities to first century Samaria. Therefore this story of Jesus was fresh good news to the Afghani women.
