After a series of meetings at the Arts College of Shansi University in Taiyuanfu, the spirit of revival broke through with the students requesting a whole day of prayer. During these prayers, not only were long-standing quarrels settled, but many, across different denominations also decided for Christ and were baptized.
When Frank declared that his ambition was “To pilot men to the skies!” one of the boys challenged him to visit men in the woods who had never had anyone preach to them. A few days later, Frank witnessed the death of one of the men; he ministered to the man and led him to Christ. In his dying moment, the man begged Frank to minister to the men in the woods. That spark led Frank to evangelize to the men of the woods!
The elders of his church gave Frank the choice of choosing to be a preacher to the church, which could pay him and take care of him, or he chose to preach to a group of lumberjacks without any support. He decided to preach to the lumberjacks. Without any support and much struggle, Frank spent years preaching in the woods, sacrificing his family, comfort, and personal interest.
